Shuffle opened the Garden State Film Festival on Friday night before an enormous crowd at the historic 1600 seat Paramount Theatre in Asbury Park, NJ, then went on to win the prize for Best Narrative Feature on closing night of the festival! It also played to sold out crowds this weekend at the Cleveland International Film Festival as part of the “Director’s Spotlight Award” retrospective of writer/director Kurt Kuenne’s work, where the first show was so well attended that a second auditorium had to be added to accommodate the spillover crowd; both houses were packed, and a second screening later in the weekend also sold out. Multiple shows of Kurt Kuenne’s earlier films Dear Zachary, Drive-In Movie Memories, his black & white short film series (including Validation) and his first feature Scrapbook also played to sold-out or near capacity houses throughout the weekend.
